‘I don't know that man' Moment Trump makes shock admission about Jeremy Corbyn on live TV

DONALD TRUMP snubbed Jeremy Corbyn during an ITV interview with Piers Morgan explaining he doesn’t know the Labour leader.

Mr Trump was speaking with the British chat show host and journalist in the US President’s first international television interview.

But when asked about the leader of the opposition he said: “I don’t know the man.”

And when quizzed about one of his biggest critics - London Mayor Sadiq Khan - he also drew a blank, eyes darting side to side, despite the pair going back and forth with insults on Twitter.

The two British politicians have been vocal opponents of the president on his immigration stance, muslim ban, racist outbursts against black athletes and his remark that the people from the entire African continent and the Caribbean country of Haiti were from “sh*thole countries”.

Both Labour heavyweights have said that they wanted him to be banned from visiting the UK because his prejudice views do not match up with decent British values.

Earlier this month, Mr Corbyn had hit out at the president’s “endless offensive remarks” about women, minorities and different faiths.

However, when asked to give a response, the leader of the free world said: “I don't know the man, I don't know the man.”

And despite the fact that Mr Khan and Mr Trump have traded numerous insults over Twitter, he seemed not to know who he was either.

Last year, Mr Trump launched a scathing Twitter attack against the London Mayor’s response to the terror attacks in Westminster and London Bridge.

He tweeted: “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is 'no reason to be alarmed!”

A spokesman for the Mayor hit back saying Mr Trump's comment was “ill-informed”.

He added: ”He has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump's ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police - including armed officers - on the streets."

In the wide-ranging interview with Mr Morgan on ITV, Mr Trump was questioned over anger about the invitation extended to him by Prime Minister Theresa May on behalf of the Queen.

Mr Trump said: “I think I’m very popular in your country.”

Mr Morgan interjects: “Let’s not be too hasty Mr President.”

Mr Trump went on: “I know but I believe that, I really do. I get so much fan mail from people in your country.

“They love my sense of security, they love what I’m saying about many different things.

“We get tremendous support from people in the UK.”

Asked about opposition to his state visit by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, Mr Trump is quick to say “I don’t know the man”.

As for calls to ban him from visiting the country, he added: “Well, that’s their problem – I could very nicely stay home.”

Mr Trump claimed Mrs May invited him to the UK twice this year during their meeting at the Swiss ski resort.

Downing Street did not confirm the Mail on Sunday’s claim that an informal visit in July would be followed by a state visit in October.

A Number 10 source said: “An invitation has been extended and accepted, and details will be set out in due course.”
