A private car of a lawmaker caught fire on Sunday afternoon in the capital near the High Court. However, nobody was injured as MP Nasima Ferdousi was not inside her car while it caught fire on the road outside the High Court. The car was heading toward the Shikkha Bhaban, said Ferdousi's son Mahmudul Hasan Suman. Three units of firefighters doused the blaze within 15 minutes. The car caught fire due to a technical glitch, said Mahfus Riben, Duty Officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense. "We got out of the car soon after we had seen the front part of the car on fire. The fire soon engulfed the rest of the vehicle," Suman said. DMP AC (Ramna) Md Ahsan said technical glitches ignited the fire.
