16-year-old charged with assault in Saratoga Hill Road shooting

A 16-year-old was taken into custody and charged with assault in connection with a shooting that happened Sunday.

It happened in the 4600 block of Saratoga Hill Road around 4 p.m.

The suspect and victim told police the suspect was playing with a gun when he pointed it at the victim and pulled the trigger, firing one round, striking the 18-year-old in the jaw.

The victim is expected to be OK, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
