A worker was burnt to death in an explosion at a medicine manufacturing factory in the BSCIC industrial area in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Amin, 22, son of Khalilur Rahman. He was a worker of Globe Drug Ltd, a concern of Globe Pharmaceuticals .
Noakhali General Hospital emergency department sources said at least eight burn injured workers were taken here.
Factory sources said an explosion occurred in the liquid chemical mixture at the factory at about 4am, leaving eight injured.
They were rushed to the hospital where Amin succumbed to his injury.
Begumganj Police Station OC Firoz Hossain Mollah confirmed the incident.
