Who is Corey Brown? Meet Rutgers' new defensive line coach

Rutgers filled the last open spot on its football staff Sunday when head coach Chris Ash hired Corey Brown to be the team's new defensive line coach, according to a source.

Brown is the second new hire this offseason, joining offensive coordinator John McNulty. Ash is also expected to promote director of player personnel Toby Neinas as the 10th on-field assistant.

With Brown in the fold, Rutgers now has a full 10-man staff about six weeks before spring practice will begin.

Here's what Scarlet Knights fans need to know about Brown:

Most recent (and notable) job: Defensive line coach at Miami of Ohio.

Connection to Ash: There is no apparent direct connection between Ash and Brown, but Brown spent over a decade playing and coaching in Ash's home state of Iowa. Brown also was teammates with Rutgers assistant head coach and offensive line coach A.J. Blazek for one season at Iowa.

New Jersey ties: None apparent.
