Senior Rachelle Parker came in second with a time of 7.24 in the 55-meter dash to break her own Natick High record in the indoor track event at the MSTCA Coaches Invitational at Reggie Lewis Center on Sunday.

Junior Abigail Gerdes came in fourth in the same event and broke the old school record with a time of 7.28 for the Redhawks.

Natick junior Paige Edwards was runner-up in the 1,000 with time of 3:03.48.

Senior Jess Kroushl ran a 7.39 in the 55-meter dash to finish fifth overall in the finals and tie her own Franklin High record in the event.

In 1-mile, senior Nicole Clermont ran a time of 5:17.23, good enough for sixth place.

Boys Indoor Track

BROGAN BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD: Tyler Brogan finished fourth in the 1-mile at the MSTCA Coaches Invitational with a time of 4:22.37 as the Franklin sophomore broke the previous Franklin High record in the event of 4:24.65 set by Andrew Hood in 2011.

“He’s been running well,” Franklin coach Tom Geysen said. “He finished third at the holiday challenge and set the freshman-sophomore record at that meet so he’s been running well. [After that] I said to him ‘What’s the next goal?’ and he said ‘Break the school record’ and that’s exactly what he did.”

WAYLAND WINS INVITATIONAL: Senior Sean Devlin won the 50-yard freestyle (21.8) and was second in the 100 freestyle (47.8), setting a new Wayland school record in the event, as the Warriors won the Reed Watmough Invitational at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.

Wayland finished with a total of 370 points, 29 ahead of second-place finishes Bishop Hendricken (R.I.). Framingham (156) finished in fifth place.

Devlin broke the school record in the 100 free, which was previously held by Travis Downs, who set the mark in 2010 with a time of 48.11.

Wayland’s 200 freestyle relay team of Devlin, Asa Greenaway, Edmond Jiang, and Nick Smith won with a time of 1:28.2.

Greenaway placed second in the 50 freestyle and was third in the 100 freestyle. Anthony Xue finished third in the 100 backstroke and fifth in the 200 individual medley. Jiang was third in the 100 fly and fifth in the 200 free. Jiming Xu placed third in the 100 breastroke and eighth in the 200 IM.

Danny Nee came in fourth in the 100 fly and sixth in 100 backstroke for the Warriors.

Framingham’s Cole Bassett finished third in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 backstroke. Chance Yan placed fourth in the 100 backstroke for the Flyers while teammate Eli Gazda came in seventh in the 100 breaststroke.    

Boys Hockey

WAYLAND 4, LOWELL 4: Sophomore Evan Vassilovski had two goals to pace Wayland (5-7-3, 4-2-3 MVC/DCL) to a tie with Lowell in a league game at Tsongas Arena.

Junior Jack Crowley added a goal and an assist while senior Joe Lydon had the other score for the Warriors.

Wayland went down 3-0 in first put took a 4-3 lead in the second before Lowell tied it in the third with roughly five minutes left.
