Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan on Sunday said he would go by the people’s choice on supporting any political party or going it alone in the 2019 elections.
Addressing people from atop his car in Kadiri on the second day of his ‘Chalore Chalore Chal’ tour of the district, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said: “I had supported the TDP and the BJP in the 2014 elections. I will support any party you believe will change your future for the better in the 2019 elections. I will go it alone if you want me to. I leave the decision to you.”
Earlier in the day, Mr. Pawan Kalyan called on Women and Child Welfare Minister Paritala Sunitha at her residence in Anantapur, where he was received by her son Sriram.
Addressing the media after having breakfast with Ms. Sunitha, the JSP chief said he required time to study, analyse, and come up with credible alternatives to the government’s policies for the district.
“It is the responsibility of the Government of India to tell the people of Andhra Pradesh the reason for denying Special Category Status (SCS) to the State,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, and added that the people were aggrieved over the issue.
Later, he proceeded to Kadiri via Mudigubba mandal headquarters where he was received by a huge crowd, forcing him to stop for a while.
At Kadiri, he met MLA Attar Chand Basha, who had crossed over to the TDP from the YSRCP recently, and discussed with him the problems being faced by the people of the region. He also interacted with women and farmers at Kadiri.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan also visited the Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy temple at Kadiri.
