SYCAMORE – A Maple Park woman was injured after she struck a traffic signal pole and rolled her van Friday night in Sycamore.
Sycamore firefighters responded about 7:30 p.m. Friday to Peace Road west of Route 23 for a single-vehicle crash, Assistant Fire Chief Art Zern said.
A Maple Park woman missed the turn from northbound Route 23 onto westbound Peace Road, struck a traffic signal pole and rolled her vehicle, Sycamore Police Sgt. Steve Watry said.
The van rolled onto its driver’s side, and the woman became trapped inside the car. She later was taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb with minor injuries, Zern said.
Several lanes on Peace Road were blocked while crews worked to remove the vehicle.
Watry said he did not know whether any citations were issued, but the crash was not weather-related, and there was no indication of alcohol or medical issues involved.
