Budget session 2018 to begin today at 11 am with President's joint address

NEW DELHI: The Budget session of the Parliament will begin today at 11 am with President Ram Nath Kovind's joint address to both houses of the parliament.
Few important bills that will be tabled during this session for discussion are The Muslim Women's (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2017 related to triple talaq, the Codes of Wages Bill, 2017, Rights of Children to Free and Compulsory Education, 2017.
As many as 28 bills will be tabled in the Lok Sabha, while 39 bills are listed for the Rajya Sabha for the upcoming session. The economic survey will also be tabled today.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the Budget 2018 on February 1, enlisting government's income and expenditure presenting an elaborate account before the Parliament.
The first phase of the Budget session will be from January 29 to February 9. After a recess, Parliament will meet again from March 5 to April 6.
There will be a recess between the session so that the department-related standing committees can clear the budgetary proposals related to their respective ministries.
