SEOUL, Jan. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea on Monday condemned a deadly terrorist attack that took place in Kabul, Afghanistan, last week and killed more than 100 people.
A terrorist detonated an ambulance filled with explosives in the Afghan capital on Saturday. The Taliban later claimed responsibility for the attack. The death toll reached 103 as of Monday, with 235 others reported to have been injured.
"Our government strongly denounces the terrorist attack that took more than 100 innocent lives. Such a terrorist attack targeting civilians' lives and safety is a vicious act against humanity and should be eradicated," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
"The government extends its deep condolences and consolation to the victims and their bereaved families, as well as those who were injured, and reaffirms its support for efforts to build peace in Afghanistan," the ministry said.
