The Kasikorn Research Centre is predicting that the US Federal Reserve Board (FED) will keep interest rates at either its current 1.25 per cent or raise it to 1.50 per cent at its meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 30-31.
The FED has been steadily increasing rates amid a strongly performing US economy in order to keep a lid on inflationary pressures and is expected to maintain that policy throughout 2018, the research group said on Monday.
