With an aim to review development schemes Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with the elected representatives and asked them to spread the message of good work being done by the BJP Government and also asked them the problems people are facing in their repective areas.

Law makers of Kanauj, Farrukhabad and Jalaun had separate meetings with Yogi Adityanath at 5, Kalidas Marg, the official residence of Chief Minister.

The MPs and legislators of Kannauj and Farrukhabad were asked to educate farmers particularly potato growers about the government initiative to give them good remunerative prices while from people’s representatives of Jalaun CM asked about water crisis and prevailing agrarian crisis in Bundelkhand region of the state.

Farrukhabad and Kannauj are part of potato belt of UP where farmers are facing brunt because of excess production of potato. The issue came to limelight when one fine morning Lucknow woke up to potato strewn around VIPs areas including outside Raj Bhawan and CM’s residence. Lucknow police later arrested three persons in this case.

A legislator from Farrukhabad who attended the meeting said that CM said that a canard is being spread on the names of potatoes and asked the BJP leaders and elected representatives to apprise farmers about the steps government has taken for the welfare of the farmers.

“CM said a high level committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has been formed which will look into the problems of the potato farmers.  He also said that a MSP for potato growers was announced which has helped farmers,” the legislator said on condition of anonymity for obvious reasons.

Yogi has started a new initiative where he is meeting law makers of different districts separately and getting feedback of government’s performance. He is also keeping himself abreast with the problems of the particular area.
