Indore: Thieves decamp with donation box from Jain temple

Indore: Thieves targeted a Jain temple in Rajendra Nagar and took away donation box and other valuables from there in the wee hours of Sunday. The CCTVs footage of the incident is being examined by police to identify the thieves.

The incident took place in Digambar Jain Temple near railway station in Rajendra Nagar. The priest of the temple spotted broken locks of the main gate when he reached there at around 5 am. He immediately informed the trusties of the temple and later, to the police.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a donation box and some silver ornaments were stolen from the temple.


Investigating officer SI Rajesh Choubey said that there were no security guards and no CCTV installed in the temple. We are examining the CCTV footage and a case under relevant section has been registered on the complaint of Mukesh Patni in the incident.
