On Pawleys Island, Chesnee’s Kevin Roberts earned the South Carolina Golf Association Tournament of Champions Club Champion Division title on Sunday at the Tradition Golf Club. Roberts shot a 68 to force a playoff with first-round leader Robert Lutomski of Simpsonville. Roberts earned the title on the first extra hole. Doug Ramey (Greer) came from one shot behind to take home the one day gross division after a final round of 71. Sydney Roberts (Chesnee), 13, shot two 78s to win the women’s division by 10 shots.
CLEMSON: At Littlejohn Coliseum, N.C. State stymied Clemson in women’s basketball, 62-41, on Sunday. The Wolfpack (17-5, 6-3 ACC) finished with a whopping 53-22 rebounding advantage, and held the Tigers (11-11, 1-8) to 30 percent shooting.
USC: In Chapel Hill, N.C., the men's tennis team (5-1) closed out the ITA Kick-Off weekend with a 4-1 win over Drake.
LIMESTONE: In Gaffney, the men's basketball team had four players reach double-figure scoring in an 89-58 Conference Carolinas win against Southern Wesleyan on Saturday evening. Junior guard Kenny Hairston led the Saints (10-11, 6-6) with 21 points.
