A resident doctor of the ENT department was allegedly manhandled by a woman and her son inside the Safdarjung hospital on January 24, following which an FIR has been registered against the duo.
A senior police officer said on Sunday, “We have received a written complaint from Dr Ashwani Tripathi, who stated that he was manhandled by Mrs Ram Laali and her son Vinay outside room no. 445 of the ENT department.”
Police said that incident took place on January 24 at around 12:45pm.
A case has been registered under IPC sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and sections 3 and 4 of the Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage of Property) Act 2008.
