Police detain drug addict who ran amok and threatened family
KEPALA BATAS: Police arrested a suspected drug addict at his house in Sungai Dua, Butterworth, near here, early yesterday, after he ran amok and threatened to kill his family when they refused his demand for money to buy drugs.
Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) district police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said in the 1am incident, police received a report from the suspect's sister informing that the 32-year-old was running amok and breaking several things as well as terrorising his two sisters and father after he failed to get money to buy drugs.
"The man also threatened to kill his family members and worried for their safety, the suspect's sister called the police," he said in a statement, here today.
Police arrested the unemployed man at about 4am and the urine test found him positive for drugs. — Bernama
