Two men were stabbed at a home near Ormond Beach when they confronted another man for trying to rob them during a drug deal, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
The incident occurred Saturday night in a confrontation that spilled over from an attempted drug-related robbery on Friday, said sheriff's spokeswoman Laura Williams.
Michael Parker, 23, and Kyle Wagner, 22, went to the Ormond Beach home where they faced off with Adam Vignati, 19, in a prearranged meeting over the Friday robbery attempt. When they arrived at 1714 Carolina Ave., near Ormond Beach, Parker was attacked by Vignati and Zyreavion Martin, and two juveniles, Williams said.
When Wagner attempted to intervene and help Parker, Vignati and Martin went inside the residence and returned with two large kitchen knives and stabbed Wagner and Parker. The fight eventually broke up and the victims left the scene, Williams said.
Deputies were later called about two men suffering stab wounds at the intersection of Derbyshire Road and Alcazar Street in Daytona Beach.
Wagner and Parker were transported by EVAC ambulance to Halifax Medical Center. Parker suffered lacerations to his left arm and lower back and was treated and released. Wagner suffered more serious injuries, including a collapsed lung, and punctured liver and kidney and was admitted to the intensive care unit, Williams said.
Volusia County sheriff’s detectives responded to the hospital and learned the incident occurred at at the home near the Ormond Beach scene. The four suspects admitted to participating in the altercation, Williams said.
Vignati and Martin were arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The juveniles were released to their parents. The investigation is continuing, Williams said.
