The Thibodaux High girls basketball team picked up a 41-34 nondistrict home victory over Scotlandville on Saturday in Thibodaux.
The Lady Tigers got 24 points and 15 rebounds from Bren’naisa Adams and nine points from La’anjana Gray.
The game was a makeup contest from earlier in the season.
Thibodaux improved to 17-8 overall and Scotlandville fell to 17-10 overall.
E.D. WHITE CATHOLIC BOYS BASKETBALL FALLS AT COUNTRY DAY
At Metairie, the E.D. White boys basketball team fell to Country Day 76-31 on Saturday.
The Cardinals (4-13 overall) got eight points from Peyton Amedee and Country Day improved to 17-8 overall.
SOUTH LAFOURHCE GIRLS SOCCER GO 1-1 ON WEEKEND
The South Lafourche girls soccer team split a pair of District 5-II matches over the weekend.
The Lady Tarpons (4-15-0 overall, 2-8-0 in district) fell 8-0 to Destrehan (13-6-1 overall, 8-1-1 in district) at home on Saturday and beat Ellender 3-1 on Sunday at South Terrebonne Memorial Stadium in Bourg.
Against Ellender, Vivian Cortes led the Lady Tarpons with two goals and added an assist and Madison Lefort also scored.
Brailynn Cheramie contributed two assists.
Ellender fell to 0-14-0 overall and to 0-10-0 in district.
ELLENDER BOYS TOP SOUTH LAFOURCHE IN SOCCER
The Ellender boys soccer team picked up a 3-1 victory District 5-II victory over South Lafourche on Sunday at South Terrebonne Memorial Stadium in Bourg.
Ellender got two goals from Jonathan Vilchez and a goal from Daniel Sanchez. Tate Ford had eight saves in goal and got the win.
The Patriots improved to 4-12-1 overall and to 2-7-1 in district and the Tarpons fell to 1-13-1 overall and to 1-8-1 in district.
The Tarpons also fell to Destrehan (8-4-2 overall, 7-1-2 in district) 2-0 on Saturday.
