Iowa State defensive lineman Kamilo Tongamoa has been suspended from the team following an arrest Sunday morning.
Story County Jail and Iowa State Police officials said Tongamoa was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Sunday by ISU Police for OWI - first offense, striking an unattended vehicle, failure to have a valid license and for not having insurance.
He was transported to the Story County Jail.
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound junior college transfer appeared in four games last season and recorded just one tackle.
Expectations were high for Tongamoa ever since he committed to Iowa State. The former Merced Community College star was once a four-star recruit by Scout and ranked the fourth-best junior college defensive tackle by 247Sport.
Iowa State spokesperson Mike Green said Tongamoa has been suspended from the team for being in violation of the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct policy.
