Fairly light snow might arrive in the Lower Hudson Valley, more likely on Tuesday.

"It's a really tough call -- right now, we're placing our bets on Tuesday. There's going to be a weak system off to the west that's going to graze you guys," said Brett Rossio, AccuWeather meteorologist.

He said it appears the region will be in between two weather systems and therefore won't see the accumulations that could come to places such as eastern Long Island.

"A little snow on Tuesday associated with the clipper system," Rossio said of the region. "it's not really going to accumulate much of anything - a coating, at most."

The National Weather Service, in its forecast posted late Sunday morning, said there's a chance of snow after 3 p.m. Monday and a chance of snow Tuesday.

As the week goes on, say goodbye to temperatures in the high 40s and 50s of recent days. It will turn colder. Tuesday night, for instance, shows a forecast of a low of 17 degrees. Wednesday's high is 31 degrees.

Temperatures may continue to be cold as Super Bowl Sunday approaches, Rossio said.

The Farmers Almanac has predicted a nor'easter could strike during a period that includes the Super Bowl, which is on Feb. 4 in Minnesota between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
