MILTON — A driver fled Saturday night after crashing into a State Police cruiser that was stopped on Route 128 near the Ponkapoag Trail exit.

The trooper, who had pulled another driver over for a traffic violation, was not injured when his cruiser was struck at about 6:20 p.m. in the breakdown lane on the southbound side of the highway just before exit 3.

Damage to the cruiser was minor.

Police are looking for a black four-door sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota, that might have the letter Y in its license plate number.Anyone with information about the crash may call the Milton barracks at 617-698-5840.
