IN A SHOCK announcement, US President Donald Trump has revealed he may once again sign the US up to the Paris Accord climate change agreement, Piers Morgan has revealed on Twitter.

Donald Trump has revealed that he may once again sign the US up to the Paris climate agreement

The revelation has come after after Mr Trump withdrew the US from the accord last year.

According to Mr Morgan, who has interviewed the US President, Trump told him: “Would I go back in? Yeah, I'd go back in. I would love to.

“But it's got to be a good deal for the US.”

Mr Trump last year announced his decision to withdraw from the climate agreement and strike a new accord with the rest of the world.

The President claimed the 2015 deal allows countries such as China and India to carry out polluting at the expense of the US economy and jobs.

He vowed the US would stop implementing measures to meet its commitments by 2025 and end funding for poor countries to cope with climate change.

But Mr Trump’s decision has been met with criticism from companies including Facebook, Apple, Ford and Microsoft and anger from world leaders.

Nearly 200 countries agreed to curb greenhouse gas emissions in the Paris Agreement in 2015.

The UK World Meteorological Organisation said the US pulling out of the agreement could add 0.3C to global temperatures by the end of the century.

According to the original agreement, the US cannot officially leave until November 4, 2020 – just one day after the next Presidential election.

Following Mr Trump’s decision to pull out of the deal, former US President Barrack Obama said: “Obviously I'm disappointed with the current American administration decision to pull out of Paris.

"We're going to have to act with more urgency.

“I’m looking forward to the United States being a leader and not just on the sidelines going forward."

Mr Obama said many jobs have been created in clean industries over the last decade.

He added: ”For all those jobs that were lost in coal, many multiples of jobs were gained in the solar industry but those didn't get advertised.”

The full interview is set to be released on ITV on Sunday at 10pm.
