DFL Precinct Caucus Training: There will be a DFL Precinct Caucus Training beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Public Library. This is a great opportunity for DFL'ers to learn all about what will take place at a DFL Precinct Caucus and how to convene a DFL Precinct Caucus. DFL caucuses for all precincts in Becker County will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 6 in the M-State Cafeteria. Registration and social time begins at 5:30 p.m. Caucuses start at 7 p.m.

Kids Count Minnesota: A program on "Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Community Workforce," hosted by Kids Count Minnesota, begins at 5 p.m. in the Forest Conference Center at Ecumen Detroit Lakes (1415 Madison Ave.). Speakers will include Ben Horowitz, project manager for the Community Development Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Jennifer Bertram, Kids Count coordinator for the Children's Defense Fund of Minnesota, and Liz Kuoppala, executive director of Mahube-Otwa Community Action Partnership. Giving Hearts Dinner: The Refuge Christian Outreach and Compassion House of Detroit Lakes are hosting a "Giving Hearts" Fundraiser Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre Ballroom (826 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes). Midnite Riders Classic Old Timers Snowmobile Run: Registration begins at 8 a.m. for the 51st Annual Midnite Riders Classic Old Timers Snowmobile Run, which gets underway at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Lake Park Liquor Store. The public is invited to view these vintage sleds until the start of the ride; 5rophies for "best in show" will be given away at 10 a.m., with a drivers' meeting set for 10:15. Sleigh & Cutter Festival: The Barn at Dunvilla will host its 4th Annual Sleigh & Cutter Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration starts at 10 a.m., with the Grand Entry set for 11:30. Detroit Lakes Ice Palace: A crew of artists and volunteers will be out on the City Beach in front of the Pavilion building the Polar Fest Ice Palace for the remainder of this month, culminating in the Grand Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8. The public is welcome to come out and view the proceedings, or watch the process on a live web camera that can be accessed online at polarfestdl.com/iceharvest.

Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.
Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month.
