When you see a man who appears acutely ill, coughing, sneezing, blowing and spewing green mucus into the air, you can be sure that he is sick. You may not know which micro-organism has invaded his respiratory system and is causing his symptoms, but you don’t need a medical degree to observe that he is sick.
As it is with physical illness, so it is with mental illness – when a man is actively demonstrating dangerous behavior, such as taunting and goading the leader of a nuclear government or raging in electronic tweets at his “enemies,” including the press and other media, then we are all in danger because that man has the control of all our lives in his hands.
President Trump is exhibiting this extremely dangerous behavior, and it does not take a medical degree to observe that something is wrong with him. We may not know his diagnosis or whether the conservative origin is neurological or psychiatric, but we can see with our own eyes that he is not well.
The book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” edited by Dr. Bandy Lee and written by 27 psychiatrists and other mental health experts, describes his dangerous behavior. These experts do not diagnose Mr. Trump, but they explain that they have a duty to warn of his dangerous behavior. The book “Fire and Fury” by Michael Wolff further describes Mr. Trump’s behavior as observed by those people closest to him. Each book provides professional as well as personal observational warning signs that we should heed and take action to remove dangers he poses as soon as possible.
