85-year-old man hit, killed while crossing US 19

An 85-year-old man was hit and killed early Saturday morning on US 19 in Pinellas County.
Troopers said Walter Fitzgerald was walking westbound across US 19 in a marked crosswalk when a Cadillac SLS entered the intersection at Alderman Road under a green signal and collided with the pedestrian.
Fitzgerald suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac Dominick Rozzi, 22, suffered minor injuries.
The crash occurred just before 7 a.m. Saturday at US 19 and Alderman Road in Palm Harbor.
According to the report, charges are pending.
