Bijapur: IED weighing eight kg detected, defused by CRPF jawans

One IED weighing at least eight kilograms was detected and defused by the 85 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Mahadev Ghati Bhopalpatnam road in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur. Chhattisgarh has been troubled with the menace of naxalism despite the state government's efforts to rehabilitate the naxals. The government has introduced various schemes and policies to give a better life to the naxals who surrender, though there seem to be no end to the incidents of 'naxal terror' in the state.
