Florida lawmaker Marco Rubio has fired his chief of staff after learning of “allegations of improper conduct” with a subordinate, his office said Saturday.

The Republican senator said he learned of the claims Friday and flew to Washington D.C. from Florida to fire Clint Reed, who has worked as Rubio’s chief of staff since Jan. 2017.

The allegations included threats to withhold employment benefits, the senator said, without elaborating further in a statement.

Spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas declined to describe the nature of Reed’s purported conduct when asked by the Daily News.

The allegations were relayed to Rubio rather than his lawyers or the Congressional Office of Compliance, an independent agency that handles discrimination claims and workplace disputes.

He said “the appropriate Congressional and Senate administrative offices” would be informed of the firing Monday morning.

“We have taken steps to ensure that those impacted by this conduct have access to any services they may require now or in the future,” read Rubio’s statement.

Reed previously worked as Rubio’s campaign manager for his 2016 re-election bid.
