New Delhi, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation through his monthly programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday at 11 am. This will be the 40th edition of the Mann Ki Baat programme, and the first in 2018, which will be broadcast on All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan and also on the Narendra Modi mobile application.
In his last address, the Prime Minister had proposed to organise a mock parliament in every district of India, while addressing his last Mann Ki Baat address of year 2017. Bidding adieu to 2017 and welcoming New Year 2018, he asked the youth of the nation to come forward and contribute in making of a New India which will be free from poison of casteism, communalism, terrorism and corruption. The Mann Ki Baat address will be streamed on the YouTube channels of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and DD News. Akashwani will broadcast the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast.
What to expect?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in 2018’s first Mann Ki Baat address, is expected to raise issues ranging from Padmaavat violence. He is also expected to greet the nation on New Year and Republic Day. The PM is likely to speak on the Budget Session of Parliament. Notably, the Budget for the financial year 2018-19 will be tabled on February 1.
Mann ki Baat is a unique initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reach out to masses across the country through the medium of radio. The Prime Minister, through his radio address, aims to connect with the common man on a regular basis, inform them about government initiatives, and also seek their support in nation-building and governance.
