Manchester City are set to progress towards the signing of Aymeric Laporte on Monday as they near the completion of the £57m defender, while Arsenal have been told to pay Borussia Dortmund £60m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – or look elsewhere.

Laporte is due to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of his proposed transfer from Athletic Bilbao to City, with the 23-year-old France international ready to switch La Liga for the Premier League, despite the confusion that arose on Saturday when his manager, Jose Angel Ziganda, claimed there would be no deal.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Aubameyang remains in limbo after Dortmund revealed that they have rejected “several bids” from Arsenal, but talks remain ongoing and there is still a chance of the Gunners meeting the £60m valuation that would secure them a new striker.

Finally, both Manchester United and City are set to battle it out in the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s midfielder Fred, with the Brazilian linked with a move to the Premier League.

ROUND-UP

Arsenal remain in talks to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, although the Bundesliga club have confirmed that they've rejected "several" offers from the Premier League side and will not lower their £60m asking price to sell him this month.
The Gunners still need to try and secure midfielder Mesut Özil to a new contract, with the Germany international being strongly linked with a move to join Alexis Sanchez at Manchester United this summer.
Manchester City are closing in on Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte, with a £57m transfer expected to go through on Monday once a medical has been completed.
Paris Saint-Germain have hit back at rumours that Real Madrid will sign Neymar this summer, with the club's chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, laughed off the suggestions and said that he is "2,000% sure" that the Brazilian will still be with them next season.
One PSG player who could be on the move though is midfielder Javier Pastore, although both Liverpool and Tottenham - who are heavily interest in the Argentina - look set to miss out as Juventus have been made favourties to sign him.

GOSSIP

United will compete with rivals City in the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.
According to the Sunday Mirror, City are also prepared to make a £150m summer move for Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, despite the Belgian being close to a new contract.
Should Hazard remain at Stamford Bridge next season, he could find himself playing for a new manager as former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has been made favourite to replace Antonio Conte.
