VADODARA: An eight-month-old fetus was found in a heap of garbage near slums at Panchvati in Gorwa on Friday evening. Police registered a case against an unidentified woman for concealing birth by secret disposal of dead body at Gorwa police station.

Police said that the fetus was found in the garbage by some local boys who were playing at a nearby ground. A police official however declined to divulge sex of the fetus.

"The post-mortem was conducted on it, but more details can be known only after its report arrives," said the police official.

Cops said that it will be difficult to find out who dumped the foetus there as there are no CCTV cameras around the place and also there are many hospitals in the area. However, police have begun contacting the hospitals of the area to know if any woman with a similar case was admitted.
