CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids police are investigating an overnight shooting.

According to a department news release, officers were called to the 200 block of Third Street SE at 2 a.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired. Before police could arrive on the scene, they learned a male victim had shown up at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital with a gunshot wound.

The severity of the man’s injuries has not been disclosed.

The incident remains under investigation.
