Timothy Eugene Roe New Castle Timothy Eugene Roe, 64, of New Castle, passed away the morning of January 26, 2018, at his home after suffering more than a year with leukemia. He was born in Butler, Pa., on July 7, 1953, to the late Thomas Maxwell Roe and Betty Jo Beers Roe, who survives in Georgetown, Pa. He attended Butler High School, then Southside Beaver High School and graduated from Geneva College with a BSBA degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Although only being able to see out of one eye, Tim was a three-year letterman in baseball and football at Geneva. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Rosemary Stepanic, whom he married August 16, 1975; two children, son James (wife Tracy) of New Castle and daughter Jennifer Verba (husband Nathan) of Industry, Pa., and five grandchildren, James Roe, Sara Roe, Lauryn Roe, Cadence Verba and Cy Verba. Also surviving are sisters, Nancy (Dale) Johnson of Georgetown, Pa., and Joyce (Tim) Collins of Freedom, Pa., and one brother, Gordon (Cheryl) Roe of Wellsville, Ohio. An infant brother, James Arthur, preceded him in death. Timothy began his career in information technology at First National Bank of Western Pa., then at Fisher's Big Wheel Corporate Office, both in New Castle. He served as the Chief Information Officer at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio, and he held that same position after Trumbull's merger with Northside Hospital becoming Forum Health in Youngstown, Ohio, where he retired. He has been a member of Highland Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. He served as elder many of those years. He loved sports both as a spectator and a participant. He also coached little league baseball for many years. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the R. CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Kinney officiating. Interment will be in Castle View Cemetery.
