Today, with low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico, showers and storms in the Gulf will move onshore during the afternoon. Our area could also see a few thunderstorms especially north of Tampa Bay.
- Showers, storms likely today
- Cold front moving in Monday
- Highs in the upper 50s Tuesday
The low will track across north Florida late Sunday to off the Carolina coast early Monday. An area of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will spread over Florida this afternoon and tonight with heaviest rain likely north of Tampa Bay. Shower activity will end from west to east Sunday night as a cold front pushes across the peninsula and the low pressure system exits the region.
Highs on Sunday will be in the 70s under mostly cloudy to cloudy skies.
A few showers may linger into Monday morning. High pressure will build over the area in the wake of the cold front on Monday, however skies will likely remain mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the upper 60s.

A secondary cold front with the main Canadian air mass will push across Florida Monday night and Tuesday. This will bring much colder and drier air across the region on gusty north to northwest winds. Skies will be sunny on Tuesday with highs mainly in the upper 50s.
Clear skies Tuesday night with subsiding winds will allow temperatures to fall to near or just below freezing across portions of the Nature Coast. Lows will be near 40 for Tampa Bay to the mid and upper 30s north.
The surface high pressure will be centered over the southeast U.S. on Wednesday keeping winds light. Expect mostly sunny skies and slightly below-normal temperatures. Highs will be in the 60s.
The surface high will move over the western Atlantic on Thursday with winds shifting to the east allowing for some warming. Another front is possible on Friday night.
