Speaking to reporters after an all-party meeting at the main opposition DMK's headquarters Anna Arivalayam here, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president S Thirunavukkarasar said, "we have decided to conduct road rokos tomorrow."
DMK working president M K Stalin, who chaired the all-party meeting, said, "the government should completely withdraw the bus fare hike. The DMK and other parties will continue our agitations till it is done."
He said that because of the protests being carried out by the opposition and students, the government on Sunday reduced the bus fares slightly. This is just an eye-wash and we are not ready to accept it, he added.
"We know the government will not give permission to our protests. But still, we wil go ahead with our plan," he said.
This morning, the state government announced reduction in bus fare hike and said it was done accepting the requests of the public and opposition parties.
