The 2018 Cambridge Main Street Board of Directors gathered for the monthly board meeting recently to begin a new year of programs and events.

The Main Street Program is the economic arm of Cambridge that focuses on downtown revitalization and historic preservation within the historic business district by offering design guideline assistance, business development assistance, and historic building rehabilitation programs through educational trainings led by industry professionals.

In addition, Cambridge Main Street hosts events in the downtown district that include the National Road Bike Show & Ribfest, the Cambridge Main Street Farmers’ Market, and the Annual Christmas Parade. The organization partners with local businesses such as Cambridge Classic Ford to produce the annual Cambridge Classic Cruise In Car Show.

On the schedule for 2018, the program will partner with the United Way and its agencies to host First Friday events, to be held the first Friday of each month in downtown Cambridge. Each month will feature a different agency under the United Way umbrella. The two groups will provide fun, entertaining and educational activities in and around the downtown businesses.

Cambridge Main Street is the downtown revitalization organization that seeks to create a business and residential environment in downtown Cambridge that preserves the historical integrity of its landmarks, showcases an attractive, entertaining and prosperous shopping area that attracts local shoppers, promotes tourism, and invites and inspires the entrepreneur.
