Kashmir: 2 civilians died in army gunfire in Shopian district

SHOPIAN:  At Least two non-military persons lost their lives and another injured on Saturday in Army gunfire on strikers in Shopian district of South Kashmir.

As per cop officer, Shopian district was closed to strike against the attack by security forces recently.

The dead were found as Javiad Ahmad Bhat and Suhail Javaid.

The injured youth have been identified as Rayees Ahmad Ganaie. After the attack, he was immediately taken to Srinagar hospital to undergo treatment. A complaint has been filed against the Army unit indulged in gunfire on the youth.

Anxiety raised in Ganowpora village and other areas of south Kashmir following the death of two youths. The officials have enforced limitations in various parts.

Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan has demanded a domineering investigation into the attack. Shopian Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Aijaz has been chosen as the query officer to investigate the matter. CM Mehbooba Mufti criticized the attack of non-combatant.
