Bison tracksters fare well at Minnesota meet

MINNEAPOLIS—Four North Dakota State women tracksters claimed titles at Saturday's University of Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic.

Bison junior Bailey DeMar won the triple jump with an indoor personal-best 39 feet, 4.5 inches. Senior Piper Jensen kept her season-long streak intact, winning her seventh consecutive event title winning the long jump with a leap of 19-3.5.

Senior sprinter Alexis Woods took first place in the 200-meter dash in 24.92 seconds. Sophomore Katie Bye won the 600-meter dash in a time of 1:35.38.

On the men's side, Bison senior Jonah Warwick broke the school record to win the 600 meters in 1:19.73.

Competing unattached, NDSU's Payton Otterdahl threw a career-best 64-4.5 to win the shot put. The Bison swept the top three places in the 400 meters with senior Landon Jochim finishing first (48.98), junior Jacob Richter second (49.12) and freshman Charlie Voller third (50.67).

Bison sophomore Elliott Stone won the 3,000 meter in a personal-best time of 8:28.43.
