Provo • BYU’s Yoeli Childs and Elijah Bryant were at it again on Saturday night.
They combined for 43 of their team’s 80 points as the Cougars knocked off Pacific 80-65 in front of a sellout crowd at the Marriott Center. Battling an illness, Childs had 26 points and seven rebounds and Bryant added 28 points and seven boards.
The Cougars (18-5, 7-3) got revenge for a 67-66 loss to Pacific in Stockton, Calif., on Jan. 6, but it wasn’t easy.
Pacific led 33-30 at halftime and by five early in the second half before the Cougars went on a 13-2 run to take control.
Roberto Gallinat led Pacific (10-13, 5-5) with 18 points but was ejected late in the game for a flagrant 2 foul on TJ Haws.
The Cougars shot 75 percent in the second half (15 of 20) and 59 percent in the game.
