NORFOLK, Va. — Chasimmie Brown posted a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Emily Williams and Angel Golden each scored 10 as Bethune-Cookman (14-4, 6-0 MEAC) downed Norfolk State 58-51 on Saturday.

The Wildcats won their sixth straight and remained atop the MEAC standings while snapping the Spartans nine-game winning streak. B-CU has won 16 consecutive regular-season league games dating back to last season.

Golden had six fourth-quarter points, including a 3-pointer that sparked a 10-4 run after Norfolk State cut an 11-point deficit to 43-42 with 6:42 remaining. Ashanti Hunt and Lyndsey Edwards had jumpers that gave the Wildcats seven-point leads at 53-46 and 55-48.

Brianna Hardee finished with nine points, four on a 7-0 third-quarter run that pushed B-CU’s lead to 39-28.

B-CU scored 16 unanswered points in the first half to turn a 8-6 deficit into a 22-8 lead, but the Spartans narrowed the gap to 30-24 at halftime.

Kayla Roberts led Norfolk State with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

This was Brown’s fourth double-double of the season and fifth of her career.

B-CU visits Hampton at 5 p.m. Monday in a rematch of the 2017 MEAC tournament championship game.

Stetson 68, UNF 55

DELAND — Brittney Chambers scored 23 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds as Stetson (13-9, 4-2 ASUN) beat North Florida (9-12, 2-4) at the Edmunds Center.

The Hatters won their seventh in a row at home.

"I think we played a lot better than we did (Monday)," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said. "I thought our energy was good. I thought Michelle Pruitt did a great of job of getting the ball inside and scoring (13 points)."

Chambers continued her recent hot streak, going 7-for-15 and 2-for-3 from 3-point range to eclipse the 20-point mark for the seventh time. She now has five double-doubles, including three in her last four games.

"I thought Brittney did a good job of (scoring) in transition," Bria said. "She is very difficult to guard because she can split the defense, even if you have two back there. She can stop and pop at any time. She can score so many different ways. She is just playing so aggressive right now."

Stetson held a 34-14 advantage in points in the paint.

"I felt like Jordan Tully came off the bench (for nine points) and gave us solid minutes," Bria said. "She rebounded the ball, she was very smart in what she did and she had some key baskets, too."

Shania Meertens had eight points and seven rebounds.

The game was delayed for 15 minutes in the fourth quarter due to a power outage at the Edmunds Center. After play resumed, Stetson quickly pushed its 11-point lead up to 16 to break the game open.

"We kept talking and keeping each other up," Pruitt said about the delay. "We couldn't be content with what was going on and we had to focus on the next plays."

The Hatters shot 44 percent and 83 percent from the free-throw line.

Keonna Farmer scored 19 points to lead UNF.

The Hatters visit Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Thursday.
