An SSC examinee was found dead in the river Karnaphuli in Sadarghat area of Chittagong city yesterday three days after he had gone missing.
Santanu Das was believed to drown in the river at the city's Abhoymitra Ghat during emersion of the idol of Goddess Saraswati on Tuesday, said Jasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station while talking to The Daily Star.
Locals first noticed the body floating in the river. Later, they informed police of the matter.
Police handed over the body to the family after they had recovered it.
Santanu was an SSC examinee from Patharghata High School.
