Maroushek scored 4 minutes, 37 seconds into the second period, on an assist from Derek Gielau, to put the Wingers up 1-0. Hackman scored nine minutes later to tie the game, then Maroushek made it 2-1 on assists from Dylan Hadler and Teddy Lillico.
Hackman's equalizer came at 2:00 of the third period. Shots were 7-4 in favor of the Rockets in overtime.
Red Wing put 33 shots on Carson Arthur, who made 31 saves. Winger goalie Zach Harding stopped 30 of 32 shots.
Red Wing (3-13-1) hosts Mankato West on Saturday and Albert Lea on Tuesday.
