WASHINGTON (AP) - Demonstrators have gathered in front of the Department of Interior demanding answers in the death of a 25-year-old man fatally shot last year by U.S. Park Police officers.
Bijan Ghaisar died in November after he was shot by Park Police. Authorities say Ghaisar fled after being involved in a crash on the George Washington Parkway.
The FBI is investigating the death of the McLean man. Ghaisar was unarmed when he was shot.
Fairfax County police, who provided backup in the pursuit, obtained in-car video showing the shooting. He appeared to have been shot nine times.
Ghaisar's sister, Negeen, says she wants "an explanation for every single one of those nine shots."
WTOP reports that the demonstrators gathered late Friday in a park across the street from the Interior Department.
