Epic Games have been keeping fans up to date on the current problems with Fortnite Servers on PS4 and Xbox One.

An ongoing outage has been affecting things throughout the day, leaving many unable to play.

“Hi everyone, Fortnite has had another big bump in player count this week and we were not prepared for it, a message from Epic reads.

“We have had a ton of issues and we are working hard to getting them sorted. We can't apologize to our players enough, and you can be sure that we are going to make this right.

“We can only ask you for your patience. We will likely be taking Fortnite offline for a while so we can work through this. We'll let you know when that will happen.

“We will update you soon on the next steps.

The latest update from the team reads: “The Fortnite party service is down, and Solo and Fill are the only modes available. Players should expect downtime to fix the problem later today.”

As mentioned above, it appears things are improving, although not everything is back online yet.

Fans can probably expect more news from the Fortnite Twitter team in the coming hours. There have been several outage this week, some affecting PS4 players, other hitting all players.

Fortnite gamers saw a new Battle Royale update deploy earlier this week, after a huge server outage hit the popular PS4, Xbox One and PC game yesterday.

Fortnite servers were offline for around 14 hours on Thursday as Battle Royale fans around the world were left unable to play online.

Fortnite originally went down to prepare for the rollout patch V.2.3.0 which brought with it bug fixes, Battle Royale changes and finished up a event.

However, the Fortnite server downtime went on for much longer than anticipated.

Epic Games said during the downtime the Fortnite database ended up going into a “bad state”.

They took the decision to restore it from backup, but the first attempt failed - so they had to try and do it a second time.
