CHEROKEE — Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a local man with what they believe to be 10 pounds of marijuana, edibles and cannabis wax Thursday.
Gavin Phillip Wood, 21, of Pittsburg was arrested Thursday following a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 400 west of Cherokee. CRSO said deputies seized over 10 pounds of vegetation in large plastic bags that field tested presumptively positive as marijuana. Smaller containers of the same vegetation were seized along with what are believed to be edible forms of marijuana and cannabis wax.
The seizure occurred following a tip to Crawford County authorities of suspected drug trafficking out of Colorado. Deputies conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description.
Wood charged with possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Crawford County Jail and is being held on $50,000 bond.
The incident remains under investigation by CRSO.
