Meanwhile, coming to the support of the jeer, union minister and senior BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan said, "jeers are spiritualists, saints. They don't know how to hurl soda bottles at opponents. He might have spoken about throwing away soda bottle after emptying the beverage."
Speaking at an event to condemn lyricist Vairamuthu for his recent comments on goddess Andal, the jeer reportedly said that they know how to throw away soda bottles and stones, but would not resort to such things. He said peace protests would continue till the poet tenders an unconditional apology to Andal for his words.
