Qualifier Aman Dahiya recovered from an indifferent start and clawed his way to the title from the brink of defeat against second seed Chirag Duhan 1-6, 7-6(3), 7-6(1) in the IIFL Wealth Asian under-14 tennis tournament here on Saturday.

On a bright afternoon, Aman handled the fluctuating fortunes with equanimity and played with a lot more intensity as the match progressed, to turn the tide in his favour.

In the girls’ final, the superb run of qualifier Renne Singla failed to reach a fairytale finish, as top seed Sanjana Sirimalla found her rhythm in time to hit her way out of trouble and clinch the trophy.

The results (finals):

Boys: Aman Dahiya bt Chirag Duhan 1-6, 7-6(3), 7-6(1).

Girls: Sanjana Sirimalla bt Renne Singla 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
