EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) — Junior Robinson scored 27 points on 11-of-13 shooting from the foul line and Mount St. Mary's never trailed in an 86-72 win over St. Francis (BKN) on Saturday.
Mount St. Mary's (12-11, 6-4 Northeast Conference) built an 11-3 lead and extended the margin to 21-8 on Chris Wray's dunk with 9:44 before intermission. Josh Nicholas hit a 3-pointer and Chauncey Hawkins' 3-point play reduced St. Francis' deficit to 31-25. After a TV timeout, Donald Carey made a layup and Robinson's 4-point play pushed the lead to 37-25.
Wray started the second half with a dunk and the Mountaineers led 45-37 and maintained a double-digit lead until Hawkins' 3 with 8:54 left cut the margin to 66-58. Greg Alexander had a dunk and Carey made back-to-back layups to stretch it to 72-58.
Jonah Antonio scored 15 points, Carey, 14 and Bobby Planutis, 12.
Glenn Sanabria led St. Francis (9-13, 6-4) with 23 points and Hawkins scored 19.
