Catoosa police said they've arrested a suspect who they believe is involved in an attempted robbery that almost set a local diner on fire.
Boomerang diner is still open for business as usual despite a fire that happened Saturday morning.
Detectives said they are not releasing the name of the suspect because it is an ongoing investigation.
They said they are interviewing that suspect right now, and he will later be booked into the Rogers County Jail.
Police said would-be thieves tried to steal the restaurant owners safe around 3:30 a.m.
Officers said the suspects used propane and kerosene to try and light the safe on fire.
Restaurant manager, Melissa Miller, said when officers arrived on scene, they also found a torch and that it was smoldering but say there is minimal damage.
"It could have been way worse the fire could have gotten out of hand, it could have damaged all the buildings ... the whole building if it wasn't contained in one certain spot so we were very lucky," Miller said.
Police said they are still reviewing surveillance video and will be able to release that information as they wrap up the investigation.
