Photographer Medford Taylor leaves his office at Sweet Briar College on Wednesday Jan. 24. The photojournalist-turned-professor is showing his work in the upcoming exhibit, “Medford Taylor: In Motion,” which opens Thursday in the Babcock Gallery at Sweet Briar.
Taylor's Sweet Briar exhibit features some of his favorite shots from his photojournalist days and his ventures into the artistic concept of motion. This latter section ranges from images of colorfully blurred koi fish swimming in a pond to bubbling undercurrents in the James and Piney rivers.
When Taylor was a fellow at Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Amherst in 2009, he showed his exhibit “‘Silent Journey’: A Photographer and Millions of Butterflies Travel to the Heart of Mexico" at Sweet Briar College and guest lectured there.
