Outdoor Recreation Excursions: Registration is open for winter ski trips to Beech and Sugar mountains. Trips leave from and return to the Smith Lake Recreation Area. Open to all DoD ID card holders and up to two guests. Children must be 12 or older and accompanied by an adult. 643-4569
Romantic Getaways: Registration is open for a romantic weekend getaway in a Smith Lake cabin. Choose from Feb. 10-11 or Feb. 17-18. Package includes one night in a newly renovated cabin, a catered in-cabin dinner for two, continental breakfast and photography session. Open to DoD ID card holders and a guest. No children or pets. Reboot Combat Recovery: Reboot Combat Recovery course begins Thursday at Reilly Road Community Church, 537 N. Reilly Road. This 12-week course — not a support group — provides practical help for service members and families dealing with the after effects of combat. Meetings
Cape Fear Chapter, Military Officers Association of America: Recruiting new members, particularly post Vietnam warriors. "Over There:'' The Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum, 325 Franklin St., will feature the exhibit, "Over There" to mark the centennial of the United States' entry into World War I. Displays examine the war effort and the home front. Admission is free. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit continues through 2018. 433-1944
82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum: 5108 Ardennes St. Exhibits include the original Waal River Crossing Memorial. 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free; donations are welcome.
